Eine Opera Povera basierend auf Ruggero Leoncavallos «Der Bajazzo». In italienischer und deutscher Sprache mit deutschen Übertiteln.
Im Zirkus erliegt das Publikum der Macht der Illusion und dem Zauber der Artisten. Eine Zuschauerin kann in ihrer fiebrigen Begeisterung nicht mehr an sich halten, betritt allen Warnungen zum Trotz die Bühne und wird so zum Teil des Spiels. Die Verführung nimmt ihren Lauf: Eine grosse Tafel wird aufgefahren, man spricht, lacht, singt und tanzt. Selbstverständlich wird mit der Zeit der schönen Besucherin der Hof gemacht und man kommt sich näher. Es folgt eine Darbietung auf die andere, denn alle wollen sich in ihrem Spiel gegenseitig übertrumpfen.
Nach und nach wird die Tafel von Phantasiewelten beherrscht, längst kann sich niemand mehr der Faszination des grossen Zirkus entziehen. In dieser aufgeladenen Stimmung verliert die schöne Zuschauerin ihr Herz an den traurigen Clown, doch nicht alle sind damit einverstanden: Die Träume, die der Zirkus weckt, haben in der Realität keine Chance. Am Ende des fröhlichen Reigens bleiben Vorwürfe und Enttäuschungen, doch die grosse Sehnsucht nach Versöhnung lässt auf Neues hoffen.
Basierend auf Szenen aus Leoncavallos «Pagliacci» präsentiert das Musiktheater ein buntes Zirkustheater, bei dem in der Tradition des Strassentheaters ein kleines Ensemble von Musikern, Sängern und Artisten die Zuschauer mit ihrem Repertoire an Verführungskünsten begeistert.

In the circus the audience succumbs to the power of illusion and the magic of the artists. In her feverish enthusiasm, a spectator can no longer hold her own, despite all warnings she enters the stage and thus becomes part of the play. The seduction takes its course: a large table appears, one speaks, laughs, sings and dances. Of course, with the time of the beautiful visitor is being courted and one gets closer to each other. One performance follows another, because everyone wants to outdo each other in their play.
Little by little, the table is dominated by fantasy worlds, and no one can escape the fascination of the great circus. In this charged mood the beautiful spectator loses her heart to the sad clown, but not everyone agrees: The dreams that the circus awakens have no chance in reality. At the end of the cheerful round dance there are reproaches and disappointments, but the great longing for reconciliation gives hope for something new.
Based on scenes from Leoncavallo's "Pagliacci", the musical theatre presents a colourful circus theatre in which, in the tradition of street theatre, a small ensemble of musicians, singers and artists inspires the audience with their repertoire of seductive arts.
